

Mike Siefer
Mike Siefer joined Cisco from Sprint in 1995, kicking off a nearly 20-year run as a Consulting Systems Engineer in the Chief Technology Officer’s office. Over his 40-year career, he partnered with countless customers and Cisco product teams, crafting elegant solutions to thorny challenges. By 2012, he teamed up with Matt as the principal architect for Cisco’s Smart Building Initiative, where he shaped its architecture. In 2013, Mike oversaw the first low-voltage lighting deployment at Cisco’s NYC office in One Penn Plaza. Collaborating with partners like Microchip, Philips, Cree, and Molex, Mike designed cutting-edge IoT control systems. After co-founding Platformatics Inc. with Matt, in 2016, Mike oversaw the design and installation of a new low-voltage lighting system in the dome of the West Baden hotel. Mike’s system architecture slashed energy use from 180,000 watts to 3,000 while syncing vibrant lights to music. Mike earned a BSEE from Valparaiso University and he is Cisco CCIE #1666. Mike holds numerous patents in smart building lighting and emergency controls.
